Ownership/type: Reports indicate a landline/mobile like number in New York (area code 917); multiple listings categorize it as a potentially abusive line used for impersonation scams rather than a known legitimate business line. 2. Fraud/telemarketing status: Consistent allegations point to spam/scam activity, including impersonation of a financial institution and attempts to harvest sensitive data. 4. Public exposure/leak: The number is present in public facing spam and scam databases and forum discussions, indicating it is exposed to the public and frequently reported by users. 5. Call back advisability: Given repeated scam reports, answering or returning calls is not advisable; if contacted, do not share personal information and consider blocking and reporting. 7A call for this number claiming that I made a purchase for $3000. Not true. Another scammer.
On Chase's website, if you have to enter a code in order to log in, you are given a choice of a text or a call. I chose to have a call and this number called back. Unfortunately, I think it's malfunctioning, since I didn't hear a voice on the other end. It actually called me more than once. Therefore, I CAN confirm it is indeed from Chase. It's legitimate.
I was checking my call history online and noticed that for around six days in a row, I received a call from this number. The calls listed were made around 2:28 a.m. My phone never rang, but the number was in my call history! I'd remember if I got a call at 2:28 a.m.!! I do have a Chase account. None of my calls were from Chase.
Called saying that they are giving me a code to get into my account. Never asked for a code. And, the number is not from Chase.
