A guy called Kabelo phoned claiming he was from SARS. He aggressively told me I must pay outstanding VAT. He read out me my ID number correctly but then read out an incorrect email address. I then gave him the correct email address and he said he would email me the claim. I never got the email, perhaps he didn't take down my email address correctly. His approach in telling me I must pay was that of a bully asking for my lunch. My Accountant was not aware of this outstanding amount either.

I received a call from this number saying I owe SARS, she had my information. I asked how do I know she is from SARS. She said if I don't pay in 3 days legal action will be taken, I said to her to pay it for me I will pay her R50 every month. The concern is that she had all my information.

I received a call from this number asking me to verify my ID and address as they are from SARS, the guy claimed that I have unresolved tax returns from 2010 and I should go to my nearest branch. What scares me is that he actually knew my address and ID number. I checked with SARS and has nothing outstanding with them. Watch out!
