First you receive a sms from 0822214000 stating that you've won a prize (as per below), in the Vodacom summer rewards programme. Then you receive a call from consultant Ifrahim Mohlatsi, who calls to inform you that you have won 3 prizes in the Vodacom Summer rewards programme: an iPhone, which you can collect from any Vodacom or iStore in your town, a R5000 grocery vouchers and 30k cash prize from Standard Bank which will be trasferred in 5 paments of 5k per month or 10 x 3k payments. They claim that, because Vodacom is celebrating its 30th birthday and becuse its Womans month you've been selected and won. If you insist, you may speak to the "call centre manager" Bradwin Smith, who will assist and try to persuade you further. They asks you certain legitetate I&V questions about being a Vodacom customer. Lets you run certain ussd codes like *129*30*30000# (confirming that your transaction is being processes and that you will receive an sms soon. This 2nd sms does not come through at all), and some others ussd's are needed to be run, then they want to call you on an additional number in order to keep your number free while transferring the funds electronically to your Bank using you cell number. Conveniently, when this fails, they request that you open you Banking app to try and "complete" the transaction... They refuse to give any email addresses or verification that they are working for "Vodacom Rewards" If You refuse to open your banking app they request that you run the Vodacom ussd *130*4776# so they can transfer the money to your Vodacom wallet. When you call the centre number, 0822214000 its only answered by Ifrahim or Bradwin who is the CC manager — this is not a real call center number or call centre "set-up" like what you find when calling Vocacom 082135 for instance. This is most like a money scam that innocent people should be made aware about. Please investigate
