3I have received three SMS's from this number, or variations of this number, i.e., instead of ending in 54 the number ends in 33 or 42. Each time the SMS claims that I have won something or have a package waiting, and every time the URL is different. I never clicked on any link (never ordered a package or entered a competition, so I assumed it was a phishing scam), but the messages read as follows: (1) 5 Oct - 0872406542 "Shipment attempt 2/2 - [my number], your item #IPS208497103ZA will be returned today, if not confirmed: akobuz.com/TR8RXVM" (Checked the URL on Norton safe web, results were: 'Websites rated "Caution" may have a small number of threats and annoyances, but are not considered dangerous enough to warrant a red "Warning". Proceed with caution'). (2) 11 Oct - 087 240 6533 "Nicola - Regarding Item - ID:IPS208497103ZA - will be returned today, if not confirmed: enagun.com/4s8s0e4" (Checked website on Norton Safeweb, results: Websites rated "Caution" may have a small number of threats and annoyances, but are not considered dangerous enough to warrant a red "Warning". Proceed with caution). (3) 04 Nov - 087 240 6554 "We've tried to reach you Nicola! No. [my phone number] was picked in our Pick n Pay Black November Prize draw - Grab your giveaway! irulot.com/EaY6KaK" (Checked website through Norton Safeweb, results: Websites rated "Caution" may have a small number of threats and annoyances, but are not considered dangerous enough to warrant a red "Warning". Proceed with caution). Clearly they all originate from the same phishing attempts, so please do not answer any of these texts/click on any of these links. Proceed with caution and always be critical when you receive a message indicating that you've won something or that you have a package waiting if you haven't ordered something.
This is the third of 3 sms's I received. I blocked the first two numbers and decided to report the third sms I received from this number 0872406554. The message initially said I should click on a link within the message to claim/collect/receive some order/parcel. I did not order anything and this had the smell of phishing/scamming all over it with no reference from whom the sms came or a credible URL. After blocking the first two messages and numbers I received a third message as follows: "Attempt 3/3. We contacted previously with no reaction. Your order will be returned on 04/11/2022 if this have not been resolved: iyifix.com/qF3Bkkl" Checking the link on Norton' website give the following results: "Norton Rating Safeweb Share Websites rated "Caution" may have a small number of threats and annoyances, but are not considered dangerous enough to warrant a red "Warning". Proceed with caution." Please do not fall for these scammer like calls or sms'. I would like to know if the person who also left a comment actually got the iphone that is referred to? This just smells like scammers so badly.
They said I won an Iphone and I need to pay R36 for Take a Lot to deliver.
