16AMP Bank Fraud Department
Caller identified fraudulent actions, very helpful. Legitimate caller on behalf of my organization's bank.
I missed a call from 0282999534, returned the call and was told about some attempted fraud by Leonie. My paranoia kicked in and so I called my bank (Bank Australia). They then confirmed the number was correct, and then forwarded me to their fraud department to double check. I was told I could contact their fraud department directly on 1300 705 750. I ended up speaking with Leonie again (which was a surprise), and I am now confident that all is good.
Really dodgy. If there was a bad transaction they would block the card first, which hasn't been done. This is a shifty operation. Do not respond!!
asked for my card details, sounded like a very busy call centre
Cuscal Ltd is a financial company that provides an anti-fraud service called "Vigil". The Vigil service has been taken up by roughly 50-60 credit unions and banks across the country. If you receive a call from this number, do not be rude as they are doing their job. If you want to ensure you haven't received a scam call, call your financial institutions hotline.. your institution will put you through to Cuscal Ltd if there is a fraud flag on your account. They do not just call out if there has been fraud but an indication of fraud such as an out of character transaction or meets a certain criteria. All this information is on their website and highly likely their information is present on your own banks website. I hope this helps and hope nobody needs to make the call to them.
They knew the last 4 digits of my card, my address and could tell me what other transactions were on the account. Never asked for money. Happy it was a legit call from my bank.
02 8299 9534 The scammers provide 'trustworthy ratings every time there is an untrustworthy rating. Banks do not call you.
legit call
This is a genuine call from 86400 (bank) fraud department attempting to validate suspect transactions.
Was a genuine call from a Fraud watchdog that my bank uses as I had purchased a couple of things off Amazon. I rang my bank to confirm.
Called about a recent overseas transaction that I had tried to make online with a website (the card had been declined at the time of transaction, but had plenty of money on it). Stated that they worked with my bank, did not ask for any personal details whatsoever, asked if I had attempted the transaction and if I'd like it to be fixed up, such that I could make it if needed. I declined and she informed me that nothing else needed to be done. Appreciated the call, considering I had a fake US$300 transaction about 9 months ago that wasn't picked up. Additionally this number is listed on my banks website. 100% genuine
This number represents the CUSCAL Fraud Management Contact Centre. They provide a fraud detection service to a number of Credit Unions and Mutual Banks. If you are nervous about the call, then contact your Financial Institution and discuss potential fraud on your account.
This is clearly some bullshit australian CC scam- they called my house and mobile trying to get in touch with me, refused to identify which bank they were with. Told them to fuck off. Steer clear.
I got a call from this number, hung up and called the bank. The person i spoke to was listening in on the conversation. They are a legit company.
I declined the call at 7am on my mobile from this number. I then received a text with "Contact Deborah at Fraud Credit Union Fraud 1300705750. Reference PC09989" ... Don't think so!!!!
