About NoCall
Our mission is simple: protect people in New Zealand from spam calls and phone scams. NoCall is a community platform that combines collective intelligence with advanced technology to identify and block unwanted calls.
How NoCall works
NoCall works thanks to its community. The process is straightforward:
- Users report suspicious numbers — When you get a spam call, you report it from the app or the website. Each report includes a category (telemarketing, scam, debt collection, etc.).
- The database updates in real time — Reports are processed and checked automatically. There are currently more than 749 numbers flagged as spam, with 2 accumulated reports.
- The app warns you and, with Pro, blocks — The NoCall app syncs the community database to your phone. Known spam calls are identified when they ring (a label on iPhone, an alert on Android) and, with Pro, blocked before they ring. On iPhone, the SMS filter moves texts from reported numbers out of your inbox.
The NoCall app
NoCall's free ad-supported plan identifies known spam calls: on iPhone, through the iOS CallKit extension, it shows a label on the incoming-call screen, and on Android it alerts you with a notification. Pro blocks or rejects them automatically before they ring.
The free ad-supported plan lets you search and report numbers. With NoCall Pro, you enable automatic blocking, background sync, and filtering of suspicious SMS.

The reporting system is the heart of NoCall. On the website you can report numbers without creating an account; in the app you report while signed in. Reports are classified by category and an admin reviews them before they are published.
When several users report the same number, its risk score rises and it joins the automatic block list. It is a transparent system where every contribution counts.
You can also look up any number on our website to see if it has been reported as spam, read other users’ comments, and check the risk level before returning a call.
