Rang and said issue with recent payment attempt on my card. Rang westpac directly and checked with fraud team, nothing unusual on my account noted and call was not from them

This seems to be Westpac's "calling from overseas?" number on their website. They actually called a family member asking for some details and I called Westpac back on their normal number (0800 400 600) and it turned out the first call was indeed legitimate in this case

***WARNING FRAUD*** I rang Westpac on 0800400600 and pressed 1 to "save spot in the cue" so the bank would call me back. Within 1 minute 099128000 called me claiming to be Westpac - their caller ID said "Westpac New Zealand". There was an automated message saying that Westpac was returning my call and then something about security, but then the number hung up

Says she's from Westpac and self-introduced as Jeniffer. the caller name appearing on my phone showed "Westpac New Zealand" which is very deceiting. When I asked for her last name, she wouldn't reveal. Asked me to call back on the caller number.
