Got a call today from the number 0799487188 requesting a quotation for doing building work. Very nice afrikaans speaking guy saying he is from Las water Melmerby en Borders 15km out of Durbanville toward Malmesbury. My true caller showed the number listed to a person called Monday Mhuxa........be careful I was suspicious from the start for some reason and on giggling the farm.......found all of the above

Was caught in his trap yesterday, Calls himself Magnus Rossouw, farmer from Bultfontein, we did however trace the number, number is being used from inside a prison. How easy is that... Did use different number though.

Uses same MO all the time and scamming people every day all over SA - will call you with either a repair ,reservation, etc. , will then call back to request you to buy him some airtime, will then call back to ask if you can give him the number on the voucher - no show or fake address - sounds like old Afrikaans guy , calls himself Boet, Johan, etc . Just to show him that I mean business in tracing him and that he will see his ass , I am offering R5000 to anyone that can help us trace him !!! Hope he see's this so that he can change his way's ....

he did the same to us called us on Monday saying he has over R20 000 worth of meat to donate and that we need to collect asap we got the church involved to collect and he also scammed them of R275 airtime this man sounded so genuine and because we do have a donor with the name Rossouw that donates milk we did not think anything of it and thought the individual picking up the meat is just upset because he is lost as he could not find the place at the end we had a huge fight with them and they with us blaming each other, this man is a pig and must go to hell especially for giving hungry people hopes like that. he now uses 0714940791

Same Magnus Rossouw conned me today with airtime, this time using 0724034787 , claiming he owned a farm near Bronkhostspruit that was burgled and he needed 3 new doors, promised to pay in cash and give us free meat hamper as it was weekend. Elsewhere someone investigated and said he lives in Middelburg and sells airtime to other people. Need to trap him and get him locked up, or he may already be in jail and running this scam from jail to get airtime.

Received a call from a Kobus Roets at 082 705 4052 offering our preschool for children with special needs the meat of two cows. Also, as with previous callers, had to be collected immedaitely. Said his farm was 25km outside Pretoria on the way to Bela-bela. Said he has a farm called Langlaagte, Melkery en Boerdery. Thanks to this site, we identified him as a scammer, and on his return call, when confronted, he put the phone down.

We received a call from a potential donor offering meat to the value of R14000. The address seemed iffy, and so we Googled Laagwater, melkery en boerdery. Thank goodness! we came across your website and had a good read. He called back this morning 4/5/17 to see if we had made a plan yet. I said that we had and asked him what name he would be using today and how much airtime he would be asking for. He swore and put down the phone. The name used this time was Leon Scheepers and telephone number 082 705 4052. thank you for this service.

This guy call under johan Botha and told me he have a farm i must come and do work for him he will pay me a deposit when i told him i am far he said no problem he will give petrol money but i cant come after 4 when i went that morning he told me i must get him a r110 airtime and granpa he then just ignore my calls from there on he is a scamer guys he is in jail and sell the airtime to his inmates

Received a call from a Leon Scheepers at 082 705 4052 offering my animal welfare organization the meat of two cows. Had to be collected immediately because he doesn't have cold storage. Said farm was 15kms outside Heidelberg. On our way to collect, he asked for R275 airtime to be purchased and code sent to him because his wife was paying wages and he couldn't get into town from the farm to get airtime.... Needless to say, his phone was switched off once we sent the code and we never found the farm. BIG SCAM. This man is utter scum and has no conscience.

Leon Scheepers contacted us today from no. 082 705 4052 claiming that he wanted to donate R12 000 worth of meat to us as we are a NPC. Requested us to come fetch today, told us to meet him at the Standerton off ramp as his farm is difficult to find. Then asked our driver to just stop and also get him R275 airtime and send him the voucher no. When we said that we will not be doing this he said " no problem at all, send your driver anyway, I will meet him at the off ramp". Upon our arrival he was nowhere to be found and his phone was switched off. We asked at the garage and nearby farms, all of which have obviously never heard of his farm. Waste of time and petrol.

Johan Botha also phoned us at our old age home and promised us beef to be slaughtered as a gesture of goodwill. He then called to ask me to buy him some Vodacom airtime and said I should read him the numbers. I then realized it was a scam. Is there no way Vodacom and the police can tap this man? What a sad experience!
