“I received an automated call today from this number today claiming to be Lloyds Bank Fraud Dept. The voice said someone had tried to use my credit card and to press 1 to talk to someone about it. I was suspicious so hung up then rang 159 to be put through to Lloyds. It turned out it had been a genuine call from their fraud team as someone had unsuccessfully tried to use my card number today for a purchase on Amazon Prime Video. So glad I called 159, as I am aware that scammers can sometimes make it look like you are receiving a phone call from a trusted number. Thankfully no money was taken and Lloyds have cancelled my credit card and are sending a new one.”
