Team and credentials

NoCall is not an anonymous app: behind the project is a company registered in Spain with a physical address, a public tax ID and a real contact email. On this page we explain who we are, what drives us, how we organise the work, and which official resources you can turn to if you have been the victim of a phone scam.

Our mission

We built NoCall because phone spam and telephone scams have become an everyday problem in Spain, and most of the tools to fight them were opaque, paid for, or sold their users' data. We wanted the opposite: a community-maintained database, transparent in its methods and respectful of privacy.

Our goal is for anyone to be able to know, in seconds, whether an unknown number is trustworthy before picking up or calling back, and to automatically block abusive numbers effortlessly. Every number a user reports protects thousands of other people.

How we work

Three principles guide every product decision we make:

  • Privacy by design — We do not sell data, we do not collect unnecessary personal information and we process reports anonymously.
  • Transparency — We publish how we calculate risk and how we moderate content. Anyone can review our methodology.
  • Quality over quantity — We prefer a smaller, more reliable database with human moderation over a large one full of false positives.

Team roles

The work is split across several functions, some human and some automated, that complement one another:

  • Development and maintenance — Building and running the app, the website and the infrastructure that syncs the block database.
  • Content moderation — Human review of every report and comment before publication, to discard abuse and false positives.
  • Data analysis and AI — Oversight of the AI worker that classifies calls and of the processes that ingest CNMC data and press releases.
  • User support — Support through [email protected], including requests to rectify or remove numbers reported in error.

If you have been a victim of fraud

NoCall is a prevention and lookup tool, not an official body. If you have suffered a phone scam or have doubts about the safety of a call, in Spain you can contact INCIBE (the National Cybersecurity Institute) free of charge through its cybersecurity helpline.
