“Claim they are from British Gas, line is very bad, hissing and static. Could hardly hear them. From what I could make out, they stated they could save me money on bills. But couldn't hear the rest. All other calls I make to family and friends are fine and clear. So I suspect the call originates outside of the UK and routes through a system in this country which explains the poor line quality.”

“I had a call from this number yesterday, the caller said he was from British Gas to arrange a service. I wasn’t convinced that he was genuine and I asked him how I could be sure that he was from British Gas, he immediately hung up. Although this is a genuine BG number, scammers can “mimic” numbers to make it look like the call is legitimate. I will log into my British Gas account when I want to book my HomeCare service.”

“Call to my landline about 09:35 on Tuesday 16 May 23 and unable to answer. Recorded message from British Gs asking me to give feedback on recent call (from 03332029470-previously reported) on likelihood of recommending their service on a scale of 1 to 10. As their message started during my outgoing message, the first part of the recoding was missed.”

“Call to my landline @ 09:14 on Tuesday 16 May 23. Caller asked for me by name and started a long spiel about British Gas Homecare. Once I could get a word in I told her I was not interested. This was followed up about 30 mins later, by a call from 01183150367 with a recorded message asking for a feedback rating. I have reported this separately”

“Caller claiming to be from British Gas wanted to know if i was happy with a recent boiler service visit. They got the date of the service correct so had some B Gas information. They tried to make an appointment for a heating advisor to visit me and advise on improving my system. I refused and they were quick to ring off.”
