“Got a call to say my smart meter wasn't working and that I needed to arrange for it to be changed. I said okay - then she started asking me to verify my details and I refused saying that she had called me, supposedly from British Gas so I'm not giving her any of my personal information. She got a cob on and told me to call British Gas then and hung up. Rude - just rude - and I have blocked the number.”

“Immediately after call with British gas reporting a fault so having read comments here, that seems likely. We have BT call guard and they chose not to leave a message. Rated 9 for the latter reason as I don't actually know who they were and had not requested a call. .”

“This number has called me a few times even after I told them they were a scam outfit The previous house owner used British Gas, I changed to another energy supplier more than a year ago and paid British Gas's closing energy bill. I think they have got hold of British Gas's ex customer's details and are trying their luck saying that money is still owing.”
