“KSS Marketing on behalf of Standard Bank/Diners Club has untrustworthy telemarketers who skew the purpose of the call in order to gain personal information. My 83 year old father was conned into providing a lot of income and contact/residential information when the purpose was understood to be for the renewal of a credit card. We started becoming suspicious when the telemarketer begun asking about the customers Investment accounts and amounts invested. When we attempted to find out who was calling we were given a fake name of Andre Beek. I am most disappointed in Standard Bank for aligning themselves with crooked "Marketing" companies and will not continue to be their customer.”

“Automated call from "Standard Bank" advising fraud on debit card however, this was at 8 am on a Saturday morning and I hadn't used my debit card for 3 days! Voice advises to phone back on number ... Checked accounts immediately and all was in order. Checked standard bank fraud line number vs call and none of these numbers aligned.”

“I tried to register on PayPal. The website did not accept my bank card details. Immediately got an sms to confirm debit orders. Knew something was fishy as the sms was all wrong and looked suspicious. I received automated calls to my cell, home & work phones. Didn't give out any info or confirm anything.Dropped the calls after a few seconds. Called standard bank the next day. Its definitely fraud. Blocked my card immediately. New card to arrive in the next few days. Angry that they have all my info. Be careful, do not even stay on the call for a long while. They could hack your cellphone.”

“This is an actual Substandard Bank number. It is Substandard Banks "fraud division" showing they care about their customers by sending them a really badly executed "robocall", which has the effect of scaring the customer instead. Nevertheless, if you refrain from entering any banking details and eventually deny the transactions are legitimate, you will be able to speak to a human at Substandard Fraud division and ensure that it is a real call. At this point I suggest that you tell that human that this robocall technique is bad customer service.”

“It started off with someone from "Standard Bank" offering me a disability cover for R300'000.00, just after 18h00 in the evening (INDICATOR - who calls at night to offer you life cover). She explained the policy to me in my home language and then read out my ID, Address and thanked me for my long history with Standard Bank (INDICATOR - I did not choose to be addressed in my home language). Then followed by 1st SMS that I must confirm three debit orders. The last amount was exactly the amount that I swiped at a shop. The debit orders were dated 20th of June(INDICATOR - who sets up a debit order before pay day). The 2nd SMS said there was £433-000 of unclaimed and I should email [email protected] for info. The last straw was the automated call from 080 000 5559. I didn't even bother to entertain it. Clearly, this is someone who has my personal information. The number is not from Standard Bank. Please be wide awake out there!”
