“Same as previous commenter. Contacted Standard Bank's fraud line and reported the number and sms and verified no suspicious activity occurred on the account in question. They advised me to contact my cellular service provider and also report the number as suspicious etc.”

“Got an sms and a call from this number asking me to confirm transactions on my account (the transactions in question were online PSN purchases and no OTP was generated) I was promted in the SMS to respond and the voicemail said to call the above number. I rather called the number on the back of my card and the lady that eventually answered said that that does not seem to be a std bank number as theirs start with 0861, not 0800. very suspect.”
