“this number has called several times saying they are from british gas accounts, I told an asian sounding guy I wasn'twith British gas so he kept asking who my supplier wa, I told him I wasn't prepared to give him that information and hung up. I had already checked this number and contacted my supplier(British gas lite) who assured me my account is an online product and under no circumstances would they phone me.”

“Cold call from British Gas. Totally ignored the "no phone calls" on my account. Following service by engineer (Boiler passed with fling colours), British Gas trying to sell me a new boiler as mine is getting a bit old. Telemarketer told in no uncertain terms that I don't want a new boiler and definitely don't want to receive such a call on the Saturday before Christmas.”

“Purports to be British Gas offering a smart meter but I became suspicious at the amount of personal info they were asking for. Told them I was not interested and hung up. Called British Gas on a known contact number and they confirmed the call was not from them AND that I was not entitled to a smart meter as I was not on a dual fuel tariff.”
