“If this number calls you, it is 99 percent scam. However the actual number for BofA fraud dept. is the number being spoofed. Hang up and recall and you will get the real BofA fraud dept. So, yes, it is a scam but they spoof the real number.”

“I received a call from BOA and he asked for me by my first name. He proceeded to tell me the fraud department was investigating if I was the person who made a $1000 Zelle transaction. I informed him since I had no accounts with BOA, probably not (haha). He said he’d close that account and then hung up on me. Definitely a scam!”

“We called the number on the back of the credit card and the Bank representative said that this number was not an official Bank of America number. There was a charge of $0.23 from the store the phone call stated. They cautioned that they could have gotten our information from a discarded receipt and were trying to get more information about the account to access it.”
