NoCall 2026 survey: how many spam calls do you get, and what kind?

Seven single-choice questions, under a minute. We want to know how many unwanted calls and texts people get and what they do about them.

It is anonymous: we do not ask for your name, email or phone, and there are no free-text fields. To avoid repeated answers we store an encrypted fingerprint of your IP (not the IP), deleted after 90 days. That is why only one response per connection is accepted.

Take the survey

1. How many unwanted calls do you get in a normal week?
2. And how many unwanted texts?
3. Which kind of unwanted call do you get most?
4. Since 17 October, have you had a call from a number starting with 400?
5. Do you answer calls from numbers you do not know?
6. What do you mostly do about these calls?
7. In the last year, have you or someone close lost money to a phone or text scam?

For comparison

In May 2026 OCU published a survey of a representative sample of Spain’s population aged 25 to 94: 98% still received unsolicited sales calls, and 58% got more than 10 a month.

Our survey is not representative: it is answered by whoever reaches NoCall, usually people who already get suspicious calls. It describes our users, not the whole population.

Method

  • We only count reports a person sent through NoCall (the website or the app) that were approved in moderation: they have a source IP and do not come from imports or generated content. Reports still awaiting review do not count. Minimums count distinct people (by an encrypted fingerprint of their IP), not reports, so one person cannot move a figure. Comments on number pages are not used.
  • Survey open until 31 December 2026 on NoCall’s Spain editions.
  • Seven single-choice questions. No personal data and no free text are collected.
  • One response per connection: we store an encrypted fingerprint (HMAC) of the IP only to avoid duplicates and delete it after 90 days. Several people sharing a connection (an office, for example) can only answer once.
  • Results are recomputed every night and hidden until there are 100 responses.

Frequently asked questions

Do you store my IP?

No. We store an encrypted fingerprint of the IP that cannot be turned back into it, only to avoid repeated answers, and delete it after 90 days.

When will I see the results?

Once there are at least 100 responses. Before that, a few votes could give misleading percentages.
