“The caller was harassing my mom claiming to be calling from Chase Bank. He claimed his name was Ban Song calling from (212) 270 6000 and was phishing for information. I walked into the room when I heard that my mom was getting frustrated and telling him that she doesn't even handle our family's finances. "Ban" kept insisting on keeping her on the line to ask her for more personal information. I finally got on the phone and asked him what he wanted. He spoke zero English and insisted that I put my mother back on the line (all in Mandarin). I hung up and he continued to call back with the numbers (718)635-2229, (917)858-4915,(718)772-9252, (212)270-6000, (646)809-3919 then finally (800)935-9935 .. all back to back from each other. I finally picked and he kept insisting on talking to the head of the house and this is when I told him never to call again. Beware, very stupid and insistent scammer.”

Myself and my husband have been getting harassed by scam artists claiming to be Chase for months. We 100% know it is not Chase Bank. They are trying to get access to our bank account and almost tricked my husband into offering up all his info.”

“I have dozens of missed calls from them on one of my Hushed App burner numbers that I keep specifically so that I can enter it on any online form that requires a phone number. That way, my *real* personal and business numbers don’t get sold to scammers. I finally picked up, and the woman asked to speak to my fiancé. I said, “This is his wife, I handle our business matters, what is this in regards to.” I have not had a legitimate company refuse to speak to me when I say that. They may ask whether he is available to give them authorization to speak to me, and since we both work from home he usually is. Legitimate companies have also said, “Would you please ask him to call Ramona at blah blah number.” The woman on this call was awkward- as if she had to read a different script or talk to a manager to figure out what to say. She said they’d just call back another time. I see people here talking about Chase. My partner does not currently bank with Chase and never has. I have an account with them, but it’s not delinquent and his name has never been associated with it. I know what’s on his credit report because, like I told the woman, I prepare both our tax returns and handle our finances….including applying for loans and whatnot. So if he has no accounts with Chase, and I do but not revolving credit, then no Chase anybody has a reason to call one of my burner phone numbers asking for him. None of his distant past revolving accounts were associated with my burner number. I’ll tell ya who does think my burner number is his number is One Financial (or One something ruther) and possibly Best Buy. We were looking for a small short term personal loan a little while back and made some inquiries. There are no accounts and certainly no delinquent accounts. I’m guessing some scammers bought my phone number from some shady online application or something. I don’t know what they hope to accomplish calling my burner every day. There is a legit local credit union who has my number as his number, but they wouldn’t have someone as awkward as the woman who called working for them. And we didn’t open an account with them yet, so there’s that. Friends, if you all don’t have a dedicated burner phone number that you give out to online forms, you do yourself a disservice. I learned too late. I had a legacy phone number for over 15 years that I used for business and personal. But I had entered it in online forms that required a number here and there over the years, and I received so many robocalls, SPAM, and scam calls that the number became useless for business.”
