“Recorded message said it was Bank of America and they had just declined a $122 charge from Amazon. Press "1" if the charge was legit, or call (did not copy #). The caller ID looked very legit. Obviously a spam. Glad I did not press "1" - or call the number provided. The message did NOT repeat itself. I should have let it go to voice mail.”

“It's used by third party vendors for the debt collection department for BOA. The vendors are technically not BOA but work for BOA as a contracted vendor. Because of this status some departments may be unaware that this phone number is legitimate as it will not show on BOA's website which I feel would ease people's worries about the phone number if it was listed as a third party vendor number or if BOA would publicly state it. I have seen through different forums that people are worried about the nondescript voicemails but it is illegal to disclose debt without verifying the person so leaving that information in the voicemail would be illegal. Look up the FDCPA laws around this.”

“I received a sms saying Bank of America has sent me a code to log into my account. I didn’t ask for a code. The sms text looked very real. I called that number to report a possible fraud happening and he told me he could help me change the password I hung up. Didn’t feel right.”
